Cactus Jack

Legend says that Cactus Jack was the boldest cowboy the Wild West had ever seen. He gained his fame by being the quickest gunslinger and greatest BBQ man around. Jack became a hero of sorts. Folks would come from miles around to see his quickdraw and taste his BBQ. Until the day he was attacked that is. Wrestled down by a gang including the scheming local Sheriff and 4 ruthless lawmen who were jealous of Cactus Jack. They gave Jack a whooping like nobody had seen before and after having his reputation tarnished, he set out – to exact vengeance.

Ol’ Cactus Jack knew he could never go heels a blazing as they were the law after all. Many times, he thought he would give up, but his grit kept him strong. Cactus Jack came up with a plan. But he would wait more than a year to put it in motion. He would trick the villainous Sherriff and his band of vile lawmen into accepting something of a peace offering and when they were distracted, he would wrangle them up and leave them tied to a tree to be found at some later time, dead or alive. Cactus Jack had been working on some secret BBQ rubs at the time of the attack and he knew those men would want to try the new recipes. One evening after a long day of cooking Cactus Jack galloped into town and was met by the Sheriff and his lawmen. Explaining the peace offering Cactus Jack patiently waited while the Sheriff and the lawmen wandered about town singing praises of his BBQ until they ate and drank so much that they passed out. Cactus Jack hog-tied the men, loaded them up in a wagon, and took them out to a tree far away from the town where he left them, strung together, where they may or may not be found. Jack headed back to his ranch and slowly faded into the darkness with no desire for the spotlight after his victory.

The mystery of what happened to the Sheriff and his lawmen has never been solved as they were never seen again and to this day no one has ever been able to explain Cactus Jack’s disappearance. All that remains are his famous BBQ rubs. Go ahead and try some and become a legend yourself.
